Guesthouse Fujitatami

Fujitatami Guesthouse in Izumi, south of Osaka, is run by a family of tatami (natural rush flooring often seen in temples and tea room) makers and we most welcome foreigners and world travelers.

We are located in a short distance to Kansai International Airport: from the closest Izumi-Chuo station there are direct limousine bus to/from the airport (Costs ¥1250.) On the contrary, you might find us a little far from Osaka city center, but still very accessible by train to Osaka Namba station.

Our guests are usually ones who are here for an authentic local Japanese town or countryside experience that is surrounded by parks and local shops. There are good connections to hiking routes in Nara and Wakayama, and you will love socialising with people in our neighborhood, trying local bars and food, away from the buzzing shopping malls. You are at home if you are up for a relaxing, peaceful atmosphere where its calm and welcoming.

We have 1 male dormitory, 1 female dormitory and 2 private rooms. Private room A can host up to 2 persons, and private room B can host up to 4 persons. Our building is a traditional house and tatami mats are used in all rooms, you will love your stay in wonderful Japanese style.

Additionally if you are an art lover, in our small factory next door we host an Airbnb experience workshop where you will see the demonstration of how tatami mats are made, as well as creating your own mini mat guided by a master tatami maker.
