Welcome to The Yard - your neighbourly hostel where everyone is a friend.
The Yard is a boutique hostel in the heart of Helsinki and Best Hostel in Finland years 2018, 2019 and 2020. We are your home away from home, a place were you will always feel welcome and valued. Our core goal is to make everyone walk through our doors fall in love with Helsinki by helping them get the best possible experience of our Nordic Capital. You will feel right at home in our relaxed and cool ambience.
We are a hostel with both private rooms and dorms. Most of our dorm beds have light blocking privacy curtains. Our large lounge is great for hanging out with your friends or making new ones. Plus free Wi-Fi for all and lots of real plants to keep the air fresh. Our kitchen is well equipped for you to prepare your own meals.
So come and enjoy our hospitality. We are located just a five minute walk from Helsinki Central Railway Station, on a street that is bubbling with bars, restaurants, shops and sights. Luckily our strong stone building circa 1907 keeps the noise outside and you can chill in a relaxed ambience in-between exploring the city. Famous department store Stockmann and shopping center Forum are just next door.

The hostel was great and perfect location while in Helsinki, however I was put with people who had bad hygiene so whenever I was in the room I felt like I would faint and vomit, their towel stinks like it was never washed in a year and the shoes smelled like a sewer. Yikes!
That’s not the hostels concern though so no problem with the hostel ðŸ˜

Make sure you pay for a towel THE MORNING of your check in date or you won’t get one. The rooms stink like sweaty dirty clothes. Didn’t sleep at all.
