Southern Fried Rice is a popular guesthouse situated at Kata, the most beautiful beach on Thailand's idyllic Phuket Island.

We have PC stations in our property and it is Free of Charge as well.
There is a top quality pool table, 42' plasma TV screen with surround sound and a computerised sound system with all your favourite music. For intellectual stimulation we are hosting the Phuket Chess Club, with frequent blitz tournaments and we are planning regular Thai language lessons. There is access to a great variety of nightlife available within walking distance of the guesthouse, and we also hire out motorcycles for the more adventurous to range out over Thailand's biggest island.

Free breakfast was good, rooms very spacious with great facilities for the price, daily cleaning was a bonus! Best Thai food we have ever eaten as well, at prices often half as cheap as the places on the main road! We ate here five nights straight! Even if you don't stay here, get to the restaurant, you will not be disappointed!

The owner is temperamental. I noted I would check in around 11pm, I arrived at 11:06, called the number 3 times and no one answered, the place was locked, I had to wait for other guests to arrive to let me in and then knock on random doors to find whoever was supposed to be in charge of reception.
He advertises that you can rent motorcycles, you can’t anymore. The owner is very old, 76? And getting ready to sell the place, he made me uncomfortable with his attitude, he referenced Police.
