Hostel Lao

Es un sitio agradable con una terraza muy linda donde compartir con viajeros. La chica que nos atendió, excelente, nos dio opción a comprar buenísimos vinos en el mismo hostel. La cocina limpia y bien equipada. A pesar de eso, nos vamos con la sensación que hay algunos detalles importantes que no se cuidan (p. ej, la habitación no estaba limpia cuando llegamos, no había papel en el wc) que no nos permite darle na calificación que quizás podría tener un espacio tan privilegiado com este.

Great hostel, good location and nice garden and dogs in the social area.

I was hesitant to write this review, but I feel like it needs to be said. Hostel Lao was a very poor experience. I arrived to find both our shower and toilet broken, and to a room that smelled like mold and mildew with a stained mattress. I had to ask twice for sheets, and was given a couple ratty sheets that didn’t even fit the mattress. The shower in the other room was working, but didn’t have a shower curtain, causing water to spray everywhere and soak the floor. Dogs were barking both evenings, keeping me up. When I went to check out at the scheduled time, nobody was even working. I had to call the owner, and was told that I was “being a little demanding” by expecting to pay him on time and expecting SOMEONE to be working. Seriously? What a joke. Anyone who writes a negative review is also attacked on here, as evidenced on Hostelworld. Maybe if you actually worked and showed up and had a staff and took your hostel seriously, people wouldn’t write honest reviews complaining. Don’t stay here.
