At YHA Nelson we have great beds, fast free WiFi, a free sauna & awesome City bikes & E-bikes ...........we can also help you find the best coffee, great walks, awesome kayak trips, refreshing swimming holes, stunning views and lots of free things to do in Nelson.
If you love food, our large well equipped kitchens provide plenty of space to cook your favourite meal or bake a cake. The modern colourful dining area is a great place to socialise. We even provide a selection of herbs and spices along with the fresh bread that's delivered daily for our guest to enjoy. If you want some quiet time our lounge has a reading area/book exchange, a music space and an enclosed TV Room with hundreds of movies.
Wante to explore Nelson try one of our great City Bikes or Amazing E-Bikes available to hire everyday from reception. There are now more than 100Km's of Bike friendly tracks and trails around Nelson.

Overall decent hostel. Better than some YHAs I've stayed at but nothing particularly noteworthy. Super friendly staff, kitchen is a bit underequipped (or I just couldn't find where everything was), the amount of bathrooms was a bit lacking and oddly located in my opinion. Not much atmosphere but that tends to be normal for a YHA in a bigger city. Would definitely recommend it though.

Great hostel! The staff is lovely and super helpful, any questions and problems were answered and solved immediately. The kitchens are large, bathrooms and showers clean and sufficiently many. We were able to lock our bags in lockers when hiking the Abel Tasman Coast Track, only $2 for up to seven days! Only minus is that the wifi is limited to 1G per day, although it is possible to buy unlimited for only $2, it would be nice with unlimited or at least a higher quota. Within the quota the wifi is very fast

Terrible experience. Don’t waste money!!
When I originally checked in I thought the man at the front (I think his name is Royce) was kind and helpful, however don’t let his smile fool you.
My friend was not able to stay at the YHA due to limited availability, and was staying at another hostel. She ran into an issue where she needed help, so she came to the lobby of the YHA to find me and get help. The man up front refused her to see me, and disrespected her entirely by telling her that he would not help h
