There's a rabbit at this hostel (outside in the garden) along with four gorgeous cats. If you need another reason to stay the staff are also great the owner made the effort to make me feel really welcome. They had also arranged a pot luck dinner to get everyone to sit down and get to know each other. Big lockers and comfy beds only down sides are that it is a bit far out of town and the market below can create a bit of a stink.

Good location near the beach. Great kitchen although a bit annoying that it closes. I stayed during the winter so was a bit quieter but good atmosphere. Pool table and outside area were nice.

Average hostel. Had trouble getting in when we arrived and had to go round to the cafe. Good location near the main square but not much atmosphere and ended up going to another hostel in Sucre (Villa Oropeza) which has an amazing garden

This is definitely a party hostel but a number of the rooms are away from the bar so you can't hear it although be warned of inconsiderate room mates who disturbed us on both our stays here (I won't say what nationality but I bet you can guess!) The food is good and the bar has a good vibe with free shots given out frequently. Hostel itself is a little run down and could definitely use some work i.e. bathrooms with showers that leak water over the floor no plug sockets in rooms.

Staff were great really helpful and friendly. Location is a little out of town but pretty short walk. Really recommend the cayonning you can book through the hostel at $25 this was great value! Also I am always won over by a hammock chair!

Really helpful staff and really recommend the free walking tour arranged through the linked travel agency downstairs. Breakfast is not included but is available and options are good. Bar has a good vibe and shuts promptly at 11pm. Good security, lockers, luggage store, safety deposit box and night guard, who was great at getting us in from late night flight.

I liked this hostel. The location is a little out of the main town but the town is very small so 10 minute walk gets you to most places. There is some construction work going on but generally not an issue. Bike hire from the hostel is a little bit more than others so shop around. Staff were great really helpful and friendly.

Only stayed one night but seemed like a nice hostel. Breakfast was good. Lockers were a bit small and no formal luggage storage just left in foyer / behind reception desk.

I enjoyed my stay but worth noting breakfast isn't included but they do a great value breakky on the roof terrace...except on Sundays. We weren't warned about this checking in and so had to fend for ourselves (whilst hungover!) The sink leaked in our room but as soon as I mentioned this to the owner he sent someone to look at it within 10 mintues. The guy that gives massages JC creeped a couple of girls, again I told the owner who was going to talk to him. Paintballing is great!

Loved this hostel. The Italian owner is really helpful giving advice on what to do in Tanganga and for your onward travels, even sorting out the odd discount! Breakfast is delicious. Communal spaces are really nice and chilled here really liked losing an afternoon in are hammock. Dorm has A/C that comes on at night through to about 10am. One thing to be warned about is that water is scarce in Taganaga as is brought in by tankers. You will be asked to use water sensibly!

This was an ok hostel. Plus points were the restaurant which was good value and quick and easy but you could also cook youself I'd you wanted. Whilst there are good facilities all it takes is one larger or noisy group to take over the pool / common room. Other negatives were the heat as the dorm room was boiling and one fan did not really do much.

This is quite a small and chilled out hostel. Likes the breakfast that was included but the four bed dorm I was in was really small and with bags in felt really crowded.

Really enjoyed my stay here. The building is spectacular and communal spaces make you feel like you're in a nice hotel. Spacious room and nice and clean. Make sure you check out the view from the roof.

I loved this hostel. I booked for Christmas but hurt myself and ended up staying nearly 3 weeks. The staff were really accommodating and helpful making sure I got a bottom bunk giving advice on the hospital and generally checking if I was OK. The food in the hostel is excellent (I think I had nearly everything in the menu). There is a different activity every night on the roof top terrace bar which is a great way to meet people. If you want to chill enjoy the hammocks, pool or lounge. LOVEF IT!

Really great eco-lodge a bit off the beaten track. Maddy is a brilliant host and willing to offer advice on things to do in the local area and help you organise them whatever your budget. Thr onsite ruins and water hole are definitely worth checking out. The prepared meals are a little pricey but there are other options in the town and Maddy will happily give you a ride to the highway to save you the walk.

Loved rthis hostel and could have stayed a lot longer (as many do). Great location right on the lake with paddle board yours across the water which out definitely worth it. Great shared kitchen although does get busy. Loved my bed in the old American school bus although could get a little warm. Definitely recommend staying here.

An excellent hostel with really helpful friendly staff. Love the fact the beds have curtains to give you a little privacy as well as a reading light and charge points with every bed. Great shared kitchen and communal areas including a roof terrace where you can drink your own drinks and play games and music late into the night. The best thing is this can't be heard from the rooms beneath so if your not in a party mood you can get a good night's sleep!

As the first stop on my travels couldn't have asked more. Really friendly and attentive staff with excellent info, great value tours (I did Chichen Itza) and great recommendations and help for your next stop. My favourite was Alex who would always have a smile and a cuddle for you and so much energy! The communal dinner, which is included was great as a lone traveller as a way to bring people together and get to know each other. Definitely recommend!
